![]() ![]() This is a very useful way to locate an object based on its onscreen image. Some examples: Implementing gunshots or laser guns as rays with instantaneous damage, rather than modeling them as a projectile with a finite speed. Information is then returned about the object and the point that was hit in a RaycastHit object. Raycasting is Unity’s way of checking collisions between objects in the scene and an invisible ray with a given geometry. Each of these functions returns a Ray which consists of a point of origin and a vector which shows the direction of the line from that origin. Pixel lighting is calculated at every screen pixel. Pixel size depends on your screen resolution.
